Early Sesame Street Videos not Suitable for Children
Apparently nothing is sacred on Earth anymore. The early seasons (1 and 2) of the institutional children’s show “Sesame Street” were deemed inappropriate for children as they may have some material may not suit the minds of younger kids today.
According to a warning on Volumes 1 and 2, “Sesame Street: Old School” is adults-only: “These early ‘Sesame Street’ episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today’s preschool child.”
^Think about the show they are referring to and decide for yourself if you agree with the next statement:
America is on crack.
I read up more online about this issue and discovered that some producers and families feel that such actions and characters on the show are not productive in effectively teaching positive manners in our overly-protective society. To our soccer mom obsessive freak’s, they felt Oscar’s dumpster dwelling day’s in season 1 and 2 may cause a 3 year old to believe dumpster playtime was OK. Or that the Cookie Monster was a surefire influence to diabetes. But if that wasn’t enough they also felt that Big Bird was a reference to drugs. Because the bird was the only one who saw a large and fluffy elephant (thats right Snuffalufagus) it surely meant the bird was taking LSD.
Why stop there tho…
1. The characters never wear clothes and are often around each other (both genders in the same vicinity)
2. The children play without a responsible adult around, as I do not qualify a 6 foot pigeon to be responsible in case something happens…is he gonna fly the kids to the hospital?
3. Ms. Piggy is always after Kermit- what will that encourage out of our young girls?
4. Gonzo and Elmo are definitely on anti-depression pills because NO one can be that happy without medication
5. All of them are obese…how come that shit doesn’t get called out…”Hey Big Bird…eating too many of those worms tubby?”
It’s blatantly ridiculous how some parents over react over these shows as it’s their ill parenting that will corrupt their children, not some TV show.
I found this skit by Dave Chapelle (which may not be suitable for some children for obvious reasons)…but enjoy it and next time your around Soccer Mom Sally whose freaking out because her child watched Elmo and Ernie dance together…smack her.
