New Ipod Touch is I-Disaster

I have tremendous amounts of respect for Steve Jobs and his creation of the Apple Empire…but in all honesty…the new Apple Ipod Touch is the dumbest of the ipod’s yet.

The new Touch Ipod is essentially an Apple Iphone without the ability to call someone. It contains no original innovations as things like Wi-Fi and larger screens had already been released earlier on the Iphone.

1. When I buy something, I want it to have some new crap for me to feel good about…not just be a knock off version of a cell phone.

Also the design of the touch is completely stupid for an ipod. If this was any other multimedia device, I am sure I would be fine with this, but an ipod should be made so if it takes a couple knocks, it won’t look like complete crap. I can’t think of one current ipod owner who still has his/her ipod looking in perfect condition, without a single scratch on the screen or on the ipod itself…and with that said, why the hell would they make an ipod with a LARGER screen that you are now required to TOUCH in order to use the damn thing.


When I work out, and my hands get sweaty and after using the weight machines (which we all know how peachy clean those are kept) I do not feel like smearing germs on the cover of my ipod screen, mixed with the sweat on my finger tips to streak the display. Then when the ipod gets disgusting, you have to buy their pricey cleaners to make it look semi-attractive once again. This new ipod is also longer then its predecessor….technology is progressing so they should be making it smaller…apparently they missed that memo at Apple.

…But the thing that really gets me, is the lovely computer engineers who figured a video ipod should be kept at only 8 or 16 gigs of data. Why the hell would anyone in the right mind, who deals with technology on a daily basis, even THINK about making an ipod (meant to hold video’s and music) at only 8 gigabytes of data. I would only imagine that someone would thing it was a typo, and figure it was missing a zero. The best part of this, is the “classic ipods” now are standard for 80 gigs and 160 gigs…which is a great size for having video’s and music. 8 gigs for an ipod video is stupid, and a waste of money when I could buy a 160 gig ipod for cheaper, and have the ability to use the click wheel…(I would lose the ability of a calculator, but something tells me I would be able to cope with the loss)

All in all, the new Ipod Touch is quite possibly the dumbest ipod to ever be released. Besides its foolish design, the size of its hard drive provided to be a real joke which question my faith in the engineers at apple. I loved the new Mac G5 when it came out and when they released the ibook series I cried…but this is quite possibly the most thoughtless product that I have seen from the creators at Apple.
