...Because I got stuff to complain about...

"...I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter..."

Why shopping has become too much effort.

In today’s world, when you want to shop, you better have more then your car key’s and wallet or purse. Big corporate chains now want you to make sure you are carrying their “cards” when you walk out the door to your local supermarket or department store.

I am officially convinced it is impossible to buy anything without being asked “do you have your “so-and-so” rewards card today? What is this garbage? First, I have to give them another card that does absolutely nothing, except mark down prices that should already be marked down, and then take out another card to actually pay for it? Is it just me, or does this sounding a little silly yet?

Today, Sunday, I went to go run some errands and pick up some common food items for the game as well as a new razor blade (not for the game). I thought to myself, two quick stops and I should be home before kickoff (which was in 30 minutes) and the stores were no more then a mile away from my house. Apparently, I had absolutely no idea how incredibly wrong I would be.

U.S. Physicists Shock the World

“You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out…” - a common phrased used to demoralize a fellow peer who, at the time, might display a sheer moment of, what I like to call, “idiomacy”. Well today, this phrase takes on a new meaning.

The ever so brilliant U.S. physicists concluded on Thursday that steroids can help increase performance, especially in regards to baseball’s home run scandals. “An extra 10 pounds of muscle, he said, could add just enough extra to a batter’s swing to send the ball out of the park, or at least into the stands.”

Thank you for enlightening me. Without your valiant effort, I would have never put two and two together to understand that someone taking steroids is going to be able to hit a ball farther, thus hitting more home runs.

This is why China and India will one day surpass the U.S. in their economics and scientific research. The physicists in those countries have understood that steroids leads to further muscle development…and I guess they went on some crazy limb…when they deduced that this would lead to more power at the plate…maybe this is why they don’t have baseball overseas either….

The good out of the Michael Vick Scandal

Before I get a boat load of bitchy emails accusing me of supporting Michael Vick, I would like to start off by formally declaring, “I am in no way of supporting Michael Vick or his dog abusing ways.” Now that it’s out of the way…allow me to say how much pleasure I have received from the scandal. I’ve learned that the stereotype which claims that professional athletes have poor intelligence is still correct. I have not heard much of Vick and his case after he was found guilty in court, but I recall reading online that he has been recently spotted in several PETA meetings attempting to pick up women.

I would like to thank Michael for helping me decide what I should dress as for Halloween. Read further before you think I have the lack of creativity only to dress as a quarterback:

Legislation now wants to control our wardrobe?

In Atlanta, the city council is considering an amendment to ban baggy pants. They feel that this type of fashion sense is distasteful as it shows off the undergarments of many men. Also…they claim to be looking out for the physical health of these patrons… ‘ “It kind of doesn’t make sense. It is hard for people to walk,” Martin said.’

I made a new category for this post; “Just Plain Ridiculous,” and for good reason. I read this news feed online, and almost shit myself senseless. Since when has it become the right of our government to control how I want to wear my pants. What if I choose not to wear any pants at all? Are they gonna ban the right to show off legs? I don’t understand how this is any different then just wearing a plain bathing suit. At least pants cover up the legs, who cares if they are low? It’s not like he has nothing else underneath it!

The best part of this story is the racial profiling. I was pretty pissed at the way the Atlanta city council put some of their points, as it was a blatant method to complain about the dress of certain ethnic groups.

TD-Ameritrade is TD-Ameri-suck

Friday, the web industry’s second largest online broker and trading firm, TD Ameritrade, reported a security breach in its server. What was stolen? TD Ameritrade claims basic contact information, including demographics as well as e-mail addresses were hacked away from their “secure” servers. A.K.A- prepare for more SPAM mail thanks to the wonderful twits at TD Ameritrade!

After a little bit of research, you might be a little annoyed to find out how this problem came to be. “The data on Ameritrade’s servers may have been vulnerable for an extended period of time dating back at least to last October, according to the lawsuit filed by lawyer Scott A. Kamber. The company said Friday the problem had recently been fixed.” Last October?! Are they kidding me?! Shit, I think I might as well flush my money down the toliet; this way every now and then when it backs up, I feel like I’m getting something back!

Your Car is Next

When a major company releases a car that is sold to the masses, and bought in the masses, you would figure it would have most of the major bugs and kinks worked out (including things that could severely threaten the safety and security of passengers inside the car and of others around them). The fine folks at Honda and Chrysler apparently have different believes on the subject.

If you bring your car in for scheduled maintenance, and they inform you that better software for the computers are available or a faulty air filter should be replaced, it usually doesn’t strike you as a something that bad and your faith in the company really doesn’t change much…What if they told you that your brakes might not work on an uphill incline, or your wheel could potentially fall off the car while driving…how would you react?

Friday, Chrysler (ho-ho those lovely geniuses at Chrysler) were at it again by publically announcing that they would recall nearly 300,000 sport utility vehicles to combat potential braking problems while driving uphill. In a separate move, Honda Motor’s said it would also be recalling more than 180,000 Civics from the 2006-2007 models to fix a wheel-bearing seal that could leak and lead to a wheel falling off the car…

What the hell is this bullshit? So all this time, I was driving in a car that could potentially roll down a hill (keep in mind it would be backwards) and I could not break….next they would tell me the horn on the steering wheel wouldn’t work either. Also, the informative people at Honda smacked me in the face with this whole situation that a wheel that could potentially fall off while I was driving. That really makes me feel so comfortable about investing my $20,000 hard earned dollars in these corporate giants.

I’m not sure about some people, but for the most part, I think the general public has the same following opinion: Are you freaking nuts?!

Roger Goodell is a scared little boy

This past Sunday, the New England Patriots clobbered the New York Jets 38-14. Apparently after the game, the NFL uncovered a so-called “scandal” when a camera was confiscated from Patriots video assistant who allegedly was recording defensive signals given by the New York Jets.

Earlier today, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell fined head coach Bill Belichick $500,000 and the team $250,000. He also hammered on another penalty which would result in the Patriots giving away a first round draft pick if they reach the playoff or a second and third round pick if they do not.

What the hell is up your ass Roger Goodell? So they taped some hand signals…big freaking deal. Give them a fine and just tell them to cut that out. Why would you ever take away something like a draft-pick from a team? That could be losing a future franchise player! That could be like taking Shawne Marriman away from San Diego in 2005! Think how crappy their defense would be if they didn’t have him.

New Ipod Touch is I-Disaster

I have tremendous amounts of respect for Steve Jobs and his creation of the Apple Empire…but in all honesty…the new Apple Ipod Touch is the dumbest of the ipod’s yet.

The new Touch Ipod is essentially an Apple Iphone without the ability to call someone. It contains no original innovations as things like Wi-Fi and larger screens had already been released earlier on the Iphone.

1. When I buy something, I want it to have some new crap for me to feel good about…not just be a knock off version of a cell phone.

http://www.crustyorange.com/pics/Ipod%20Touch.jpg^look familiar?

Also the design of the touch is completely stupid for an ipod. If this was any other multimedia device, I am sure I would be fine with this, but an ipod should be made so if it takes a couple knocks, it won’t look like complete crap. I can’t think of one current ipod owner who still has his/her ipod looking in perfect condition, without a single scratch on the screen or on the ipod itself…and with that said, why the hell would they make an ipod with a LARGER screen that you are now required to TOUCH in order to use the damn thing.
